Name officially adopted in 1976. Official in BC
Adopted 1976 as required for water licencing purposes. In the absence of any known local name, “Teare” chosen by Water Rights Branch in association with the mountain at the head of the creek. Highway 16 and access road construction through Lot 5311 has diverted upstream drainage northwest through ditches adjacent to Hwy 16, thence into the Fraser River almost 1 mile north of the mouth of Teare Creek.
